Welcome to the Joys of Parenting a Teen. I will not be the first to tell you that parenting a teen is a huge challenge. I have begun to enjoy the ups and downs of it. I am a mother of 2. Currently have 3 teenagers residing with our family. One is my biologically and the other 2 have are just like my own. I also have a 9 year old.
I will share with you some of our trials and joys, ups and downs. Funny stuff and sad stuff.
This is not a how to, but a journey we have we have taken with our challenging teen.
We have come from where my 15 year old hated me to now she refers to me as one of her best friends. (Even with me telling her my job is to be her MOM not her FRIEND)
Now, you may not agree with how we do things but this is what we have found that works in our home.
I will not go to far in to the past but begin with the current.
We are a very open home where we have made every and I stress every subject open. Whether I am full comfortable with it or not we discuss stuff. It has taken years for my child to become comfortable to talk open with us but she has come to enjoying it.
So, if you have questions or want to know how we handle things please ask and just maybe we have been over it here and will have some insight to share.

Here is my first question for you parents: How would you deal with the talk of SEX in you home. As in if your child tells you they are sexually active. Or telling you about their friends having sex?
